DepEd Announces Vacation Service Credits for Teachers During Midyear Break 2025
The Department of Education (DepEd) has announced that teachers who will voluntarily participate in pre-approved professional development activities during the Midyear Break on October 27–30, 2025 will be granted Vacation Service Credits (VSC). Through the Office of the Undersecretary for Human Resource and Organizational Development, this initiative aims to reward educators who continue to engage in learning and capacity-building programs, even during vacation periods.
According to DepEd Order No. 13, s. 2024, teachers will earn 1.5 days of VSC for every 8 hours of rendered service. Activities must be duly approved and aligned with DepEd’s professional growth goals and strategic initiatives. In addition, teachers who will render service during the Division BSP Jamboree are also entitled to VSCs. This program reinforces DepEd’s commitment to teacher welfare, professional growth, and continuous learning as part of its mission to improve education quality in the Philippines.
