LOOK! NFSSG CALLS FOR ACTION

This is the official statement of the National Federation of Supreme Student Government (NFSSG) on Nationwide Academic Health Break:

The National Federation of Supreme Student Government (NFSSG) stands in solidarity with the Supreme Student Governments (SSG), calling for an academic break in response to the memorandum released by the Department of Education (DepEd) on the 12th of January 2022, DM-CI-2022-009, otherwise known as the "Reiteration of the Policy on Academic Ease and Allowing the Suspension of Classes and other Teaching-Related Activities in the Midst of the Surge in COVID-19 Cases," wherein schools shall put all synchronous and asynchronous classes on hold that does not exceed two (2) weeks to avoid a prolonged disruption in the current school calendar, while submission of academic requirements and conduct of other teaching-related activities must be moved to a later date.

With this released memorandum bound to provide relief to students seeking an academic break, concerns relative to the lack of implementation and urgent effectiveness of an academic break within respective regions and divisions continue to be expressed to the federation.

As the highest student-governing body, the NFSSG appeals to the concerns of the various regional and division offices, creating Resolution No. 2022-0001, otherwise entitled “A Resolution Urging the Department of Education to Declare a Nationwide Academic Break for the Health and Welfare of the Students."
School administration and SSGs must be persistent in their support of academic and non-academic demands such as mental health, welfare, and safety.

In this struggle, no students nor teachers should be left behind. We are entitled to a secure, high-quality, and easily obtainable education towards becoming lifelong learners striving for genuine academic excellence.

Concerned offices and affiliated people are yet to respond to our plea immediately, but it is with a fervent hope that a favorable response shall result from the said resolution. And that, a Nationwide Academic Health Break shall be mandated by the DepEd.

Always of service, for the students.

NFSSG
