DepEd Learning Material that goes viral sparks criticism

Manila Bulletin shared this news on their official FB page about one of the DepEd Learning Materials that gone viral.

The DepEd is once again facing criticisms for alleged “discrimination” against nurses as shown in a viral learning material in social media.

The viral learning material states: “Ang nars ang katulong o kasama ng doctor (The nurse is the assistant or companion of the doctor).” The said description did not sit well with some netizens who are accusing DepEd of “looking down” or “discriminating” against nurses.

The Department of Education is now validating the said learning material. 

DepEd Undersecretary for Curriculum and Instruction Diosdado San Antonio told the Manila Bulletin that the agency will look into it. “We will validate,” he added.
