SEAMEO RECSAM along with Google & DQ Institute are pleased to announce a Webinar entitled “Fostering Digital Citizenship through Safe and Responsible Internet Use”.

Date: Thursday, 10 February 2022 : 09.30am - 12.00pm (GMT+8 Malaysia Standard Time)

Webinar Objectives

This webinar aims to promote safe and positive online learning experiences in schools and to cultivate empowered digital citizens while ensuring a safe and responsible learning environment. Specifically, the webinar aims to:

● Raise awareness and interest on the importance of internet safety and digital citizenship in schools to ensure a safe online learning environment;
● Learn the basics of what digital citizenship is and how schools and educators can further develop digital competencies and resilience among students;
● Discuss some tips on internet safety and how to keep school students’ data safe, private, and protected while harnessing open and distance education benefits;
● Understand the power of digital footprints and information traceability.

Target Participants
The participants will be teachers, teacher educators, researchers, and curriculum developers, policy makers from the Ministries of Education from the 11 SEAMEO Member Countries (Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor Leste, and Vietnam).
