5-DAY International Skills Forum for Educators | August 23-27 | Register Now

Today, we are sharing with you the another information from DepEd International Cooperation Office (ICO)'s about the 9th ADB (Asian Development Bank) International Skills Forum.

The Asian Development Bank has been organizing the International Skills Forum every other year and this year, the 9th International Skills Forum. 

The 9th ADB International Skills Forum is a 5-Day International Virtual Event where everyone is invited to join and learn from international experts. 
The theme for this year's Skills Forum is Reimagining Education and Skills Development for a New Normal.
The forum will focus on these three questions:
  • how to scale up learning and equity while building on lessons from new generation adaptive and blended learning technologies?
  • how to prepare learners with better employability and 21st-century skills?
  • how to leverage partnerships to support innovative approaches to building back better for a new normal?
This year’s event will be held in partnership with the Yidan Prize Foundation, UNESCO, UNICEF, and the Education Commission, among others. We expect more than 1,000 participants to attend including senior government officials from 30 or more of ADB's developing member countries.

The 9th ADB International Skills Forum provides an excellent opportunity to policy makers, practitioners, experts, and partners from ADB member countries and other regions to exchange and share innovative practices and solutions to address the twin challenges of improving learning for all and reducing skills mismatches.

Date: 23 to 27 August 2021
Theme: Reimagining Education and Skills Development for a New Normal.

The Forum has four objectives:
  • To showcase transformational practices in K–12, technical and vocational education and training, and higher education to ensure learning and employability;
  • To bring together representatives from government, private sector, and other development partners involved in education and training to present innovative good practices;
  • To ensure skills development is guided by evidence; and
  • To inspire experts and developing member country counterparts, and promoting collaboration with key stakeholders to incorporate new approaches to design and implement innovative projects and programs in education and training.
The Forum will highlight approaches to:
  • Improving learning for all at scale;
  • Preparing learners with better employability and 21st century skills; and
  • Forging smart partnerships to reimagine education reforms for a new normal drawing on lessons learned from the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

Regional meetings will gather feedback from nominated country government representatives on demand for ADB support. Non-regional session will accommodate participants from both public and private sectors to discuss effective education technology interventions in TPD.
