 GCED Pedagogy & Practice Online Training Course 2021

The course aims to provide Filipino in-service teachers with the guidance on the integration of Global Citizenship Education (GCED) in the curriculum.

Specifically, it aims to provide teachers the knowledge, socio-emotional, and behavioral skills, through practical application of GCED theories, principles, and concepts in the classroom. Targeting in-service teachers and educators in the Philippines, the course helps teachers infuse and contextualize GCED competencies into the subject that they are teaching using indigenous knowledge, resources, learning systems and local language. At the end of the course, teachers are expected to develop lesson exemplars with GCED integration.

Module 01:
The Teaching of GCED: Underlying Principles and Concepts
The module introduces to the teacher-participants the key concepts and pedagogical principles of GCED. Specifically, it discusses the features or characteristics of pedagogies that help develop the knowledge, socio-emotional, and behavioral skills of GCED among the learners.

Module 02:
GCED Pedagogy: Tools and Strategies
The module provides the teacher-participants theopportunity to assess various pedagogies including tools and strategies in integrating GCED in the curriculum. This guides and to identify appropriate pedagogy applicable to their own classroom context.

Module 03:

Integrating And Contextualizing GCED In The Diffirent Learning/ Content Areas
This module provides participants opportunities to apply pedagogical frameworks for integrating and contextualizing knowledge and skills in selected learning/content areas.

Module 04:
Pedagogy Exemplars: GCED in Practice (PRAXIS)

This module provides the teacher-participants to showcase pedagogy exemplars on the practice of GCED by integrating lessons learned from previous modules to selected learning/content areas.
